How to Include Shipping in Your Product Prices

LocalZ Support

Last Update год назад

All products listed on the LocalZ Marketplace must include free shipping for the customer. Vendors are required to calculate shipping costs in advance and build them into the product’s listed price. This ensures a consistent, transparent shopping experience for all customers.

United States Only

The LocalZ Marketplace currently supports sales and shipping within the United States only. Vendors are not permitted to offer international shipping.

All shipping estimates and pricing must be based on domestic U.S. delivery rates.

Why Shipping Must Be Included
  • Customers see one final price — no added fees at checkout

  • Simplifies the buying experience

  • Keeps pricing consistent across the Marketplace

Step-by-Step: Calculating and Including ShippingStep 1: Determine Your Shipping Costs

Calculate the average cost to ship your products anywhere in the U.S.

Use the following information to generate estimates:

  • Package size (dimensions)

  • Product weight

  • Delivery zones across the U.S.

  • Standard shipping speed (3–7 business days recommended)

Step 2: Use Easyship (Recommended)

To calculate accurate rates, vendors are encouraged to use Easyship. A direct link to Easyship is provided in your Vendor Dashboard.

Easyship helps you:

  • Compare domestic shipping rates from USPS, UPS, FedEx, and more

  • Calculate average shipping costs

  • Estimate delivery timeframes

  • Identify the most cost-effective option for your package type

Use the average U.S. shipping cost from Easyship and include it in your final product price.

Step 3: Add Shipping Into Product Price

Once you’ve calculated the average shipping cost:

  • Add that amount to your product price

  • Example:

    • Product cost = $20

    • Average shipping cost = $8

    • Final listed price = $28

Do not add a separate shipping charge — the product must be listed with a total price that includes shipping.

Step 4: Set Delivery Expectations

Clearly state the following in your product description or store policy:

  • That free shipping within the U.S. is included

  • Estimated delivery timeframe (e.g., 3–5 business days)

  • Any U.S. regions you do not ship to (if applicable, e.g., Alaska, Hawaii)

Step 5: Monitor and Adjust
  • Review your actual shipping costs after receiving a few orders

  • Adjust product pricing as needed

  • Use consistent packaging sizes to control cost

  • Update your Easyship estimates regularly if you change products or shipping methods

What to Avoid
  • Do not charge shipping at checkout

  • Do not offer international shipping — U.S. only

  • Do not underprice and lose margin on shipping costs

Once your pricing is set:

  • Continue adding products

  • Learn how to manage orders and inventory

  • Review your Vendor Dashboard for performance insights
