What Qualifies as a Paid Subscription

LocalZ Support

Last Update a year ago

To earn a commission through the LocalZ Community Affiliate (LCA) Program, a business must complete a paid subscription to the LocalZ Business Directory using your referral link or QR code. Understanding what qualifies helps you focus your outreach and maximize results.

What Counts as a Paid Subscription

A paid subscription is any listing where:

  • The business signs up using your referral link or QR code

  • They select and pay for an active Business Directory plan (monthly or annual)

  • Payment is successfully completed

This referral is then locked to your account, and you’ll receive 50% commission on the initial purchase and every renewal.

Commission Applies to Standard Listing Plans

Commissions are earned on all Directory Listing subscriptions.

You do not earn commission on:

  • Sponsored Listings

  • Featured Listings

  • Paid Ads

  • Marketplace product sales

  • Any other services outside the Business Directory subscription

Renewals Are Included

You’ll continue to earn 50% commission on every renewal, including:

  • Monthly subscriptions (recurring each month)

  • Annual subscriptions (recurring once per year)

As long as the business remains subscribed, you continue to earn.

What Doesn’t Qualify

You won’t earn commission for:

  • Signups that do not use your referral link or QR code

  • Duplicate or fraudulent business listings

  • Free trials (if offered in the future)

  • Signups that happen outside the 60-day cookie window

What is the “60-Day Cookie Window”?

A “cookie” is a small tracking code that’s stored when someone clicks your referral link. It identifies that you were the source of the referral.

  • Once someone clicks your referral link, a cookie is stored in their browser for 60 days

  • If the business signs up within that 60-day window, the referral is credited to you

  • If they sign up after 60 days (without clicking again), you will not receive a commission

To ensure you get credit, encourage businesses to sign up promptly after clicking your link or to revisit your link if they return later.
